My name is Kannetha. I am a Cambodian-American photographer, and this space is a living journal for my Fulbright Fellowship in Cambodia. Here, I will share updates on my project, My Sisters Sleep in Battambang, which transforms stories from my mother’s memoir of the Khmer Rouge genocide into a photo book and exhibition.

What is your research project? My project transforms my mother’s memoir of surviving the Khmer Rouge into a photo book and exhibition to honor her and my family. I am retracing her steps from Phnom Penh to Battambang to witness the landscapes that hold her memories from this time period.
