In this performance, artist Xandra Ibarra uses endurance-based laughter and her nude body to uncover the vexed relation racialized subjects have not only to their own skin, but also to their entanglements with whiteness and white womanhood. The Boston Globe: UMass Boston Receives $6 Million Gift for Asian American Studies

Commissioned by UMass Boston.

UMass Boston received a $6 million anonymous gift to establish its first-ever endowed professorship in Asian American Studies, which was awarded to Professor Shirley Tang. This historic investment aims to strengthen the university's research capabilities and support the diverse narratives of its immigrant and refugee student populations.

 

UMass Boston: 2022 Rebrand Campaign

In April 2022, UMass Boston launched a rebrand campaign titled "For the Times," emphasizing its role as a diverse, modern research university. The initiative included a new logo, an updated website, campus murals, and a $1.5 million investment to redefine its visual identity and market position as a premier urban public institution.
