About

It all started when…

From September 2026 to July 2027, I will be living in Cambodia under a national honor awarded by the U.S. government to do cultural research.

My project, My Sisters Sleep in Battambang, honors my mother and our family’s history. It is based on my mother’s writings about surviving the Khmer Rouge era and her journey through Phnom Penh, Battambang, and Moung Ruessei.

Using photography, art, and memory work, I am retracing her steps to help find and honor unmarked burial sites, preserve our history for the next generation, and share our family’s story of survival with the world.
